A selection of Home Cooked freshly prepared Food is available all day, every day, ranging from that Traditional Devon Cream Tea, to Sandwiches, Filled Jacket Potatoes, Homemade Burgers and Sunday Roast with fresh Vegetables.
Ingredients are sourced using local wholesalers and smaller suppliers. We always use high meat content Sausages and local Free Range Eggs, while our Salads and Garnishes are always a selection of leaves with ripe tomatoes, cucumber and mixed sweet peppers, as we believe that the way our food looks on the plate is extremely important.
Our Prawn sauce for baguettes and sandwiches is always homemade, as is Mint and Apple Sauce with our Sunday Roasts which are freshly cooked that day from the Meat to all the Vegetables and Yorkshire Puddings.
We make our own Burgers using lean mince beef and seasoning only, and serve proper boiled Gammon with Sandwiches and Ploughmans. We also have a special menu for Little Ones which includes favourites such as Eggs and Beans on toast, as well as Fruit and Salad Bowls for the healthy option.
Wherever possible, food is prepared to order, with little or no microwave cooking and Baguettes are always freshly baked. Homemade soup is usually available, and if we don't have the Homemade variety we won't serve anything else.
We serve Tea in cups and saucers and Fresh Coffee in Cafetieres, with a large selection of chilled drinks and ice creams always available. Cakes and Scones are Homemade and our Cream Teas are served with a choice of Strawberry or Raspberry Jam, plenty of Devon Clotted Cream and Strawberries when available.
Most of our food is available to Take-Away, including Sandwiches, Chips, Salads and Hot Drinks. Orders can be rung through and we will prepare them immediately ready for collection.
